Dr. Alice H. Thomas

Alice H. Thomas, Ph.D. is the Executive Vice President of Success Behavior Institute. She is a graduate of Antioch University with a degree in Program Administration. She also holds a Masters of Science in Applied Behavioral Science and Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the Union Institute and University. Her career includes significant experiences in government, academic institutions, and the private sector.
Dr. Thomas has designed and led several major organizational change processes, and conducted numerous organizational climate assessments. In the federal government, Dr. Thomas managed budgets in excess of two billion dollars in her capacity as a Chief of Grants and Contracts at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Human Genome, NIH, and the Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA). After 30 years of federal service, Dr. Thomas retired and transitioned easily to a career in academia.
Dr. Thomas’ career in higher education started at Sojourner-Douglass College where she has served as a professor, administrator, and researcher. In administration, she has served as the Director of Institutional Advancement, served as Co-Director in starting the School of Graduate Studies for Sojourner-Douglass, and Executive Assistant to the President for Sponsored Programs and Applied Research.
Dr. Thomas has received grant support for research in the areas of Health Disparities with a particular emphasis on Infant Mortality. She is frequently engaged as a speaker, facilitator, trainer, and grant writer for academic institutions and community organizations.
Dr. Thomas’ interests in theater begun in 1980 as she assisted several community theaters acquire state and federal grants. She is currently serving on the Board of the Heralds of Hope Theatre as Secretary/Treasurer, and actively involved in marketing and promotional aspects for the theater company.
