Heralds of Hope Theater Company, Inc's Mission.

The Heralds of Hope Theater Company, Inc is a Maryland-based nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization. The company's mission is to promote community outreach and provide opportunities for others by mentoring and providing a platform of artistic expression for aspiring performers and technicians of all ages. The theater company is intended to be a fertile training experience for aspiring actors, writers, directors, set designers, choreographers, lighting designers, backstage crew, and theater technicians in general. Individuals experience all aspects of a live theater production.

We promote values-based plays that depict contemporary real life issues and universal themes in society that seek to enhance social and cultural awareness and diversity through theater and the arts. We are a community theater and welcome volunteers.

Company Goals and Vision:

The Heralds of Hope Theater Company seeks to:
  • Maximize educational opportunities by providing a learning experience to those without access to the performing arts to expand their creative and intellectual growth;
  • Increase the capacity to generate new creative works;
  • Develop new opportunities for artists to allow them to showcase their talent;
  • Provide opportunities for youth and adults to actively participate in all facets of theater;
  • Provide a quality theater entertainment for residents of the Washington, D. C. Metropolitan area and Baltimore audiences;
  • Stage productions throughout Washington, D. C. and Baltimore urban areas to reach target audiences;
  • Generate revenue from productions and become economically self-sustaining;
  • Give minority playwrights a venue for bringing their work to the stage;
  • Partner with an area college/university or other non-profit entity such as churches to become its theater-in-residence in order to: 1) provide artistic and educational services in exchange for access to facility, security, insurance and parking for patrons, 2) share in revenue from productions as a fundraiser for the colleges/non-profit entities such as churches, and 3) join in a united community outreach endeavor.
  • Secure our own facility to conduct training, rehearse, provide storage space for set and costumes, and stage our plays.
  • Engage in fundraising activities to help the company continue its mission.
